Senior Behavioral Health Hospital Opens in Wichita

St. Anthony's Senior Care Hospital Offers Inpatient Mental Health Care for Seniors 65+

WICHITA, KS - July 31, 2018 - St. Anthony's Senior Care Hospital is now taking patients. This newly constructed senior behavioral health hospital answers the need for senior services that specialize in mental health in Wichita and the surrounding area. It is located at 21st street and 127th street, sharing a building with Reeds Cove Health & Rehab but operating separately.

With a mission of improving lives and exceeding expectations, St. Anthony’s serves patients 65 years of age and older who are suffering from major changes in their mental condition. They offer inpatient programs for general behavioral health needs, including dementia and other cognitive impairments.

Programs at St. Anthony’s are designed for a short stay. The hospital’s medical providers and caretakers work with patients and families on a plan of care that allows patients to maintain their improved condition after discharge, while continuing to provide support to avoid re-hospitalization.

Robert Bragg, Hospital CEO stated, “We are excited to have the opportunity to serve the Wichita community and offer services that are currently few and far between in the area.”

While new, the St. Anthony’s team holds many years of behavioral health experience. Bragg alone possesses over 18 years of executive and operational experience in behavioral health and senior care services. Director of Nursing, DeShaun Willingham has been a nurse for over 13 years. She previously worked as a nursing manager for Via Christi St. Joseph, where her strong leadership skills proceed her.

“We have worked closely with Joint Commission to ensure a comfortable, safe environment for our patients while providing quality care.” Bragg said.

A limited number of pro-bono beds are currently available.
