Best fit for many CNA, CMA, LPN, and ADN/RN seekers because it covers eligible two-year degrees and certificate programs, not bachelor’s degrees. It is a “last-dollar” program and comes with a Kansas work-and-residency commitment after graduation.

This is one of the strongest options for LPN and RN students. It is specifically designed to encourage enrollment in Kansas LPN or RN programs, and recipients agree to practice nursing in Kansas for one year for each year of funding. Sponsored students can receive additional support through a qualifying employer/sponsor.

The Healthworks scholarship is open to people enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited Kansas school for health care, and it includes an Undergraduate Nursing category that specifically names LPN, RN, and BSN-type nursing pathways.

For CNA and CMA certifications, employees should usually start with:
> KDADS active course listings for available classes by city/date,
> KANSASWORKS to see whether a local training provider is WIOA-approved, and
> colleges/tech schools that have Kansas Promise-eligible aide pathways where available. KDADS specifically lists CNA and CMA courses, and Barton publicly lists both Nurse Aide and Medication Aide as Kansas Promise-eligible offerings. LPN/RN
For LPN/RN licensing, the top statewide funding options are usually Kansas Promise Act, the Career Technical Workforce Grant, and for some students the Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship if they are entering a qualifying practical nursing program and can meet the service obligation. KSBN’s current approved-program list shows practical nursing programs across Kansas, which makes it easier to match employees to a nearby option.
